They eliminate bacterial cells by attaching to the outer layer of the bacteria and inhibiting the function of the enzyme responsible for producing peptidoglycan (an essential part of the bacterial cell wall). Consequently, the bacterial cell is unable to grow and reproduce, ultimately leading to its death.

Cefuroxime Axetil 500 mg Tablets are part of the cephalosporin antibiotic class and are used to treat various bacterial infections. They are effective in addressing urinary tract infections (UTI), mild to moderate lower respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis), severe lower respiratory tract infections (including pneumonia), pyelonephritis (inflammation of the kidneys caused by bacterial infection), uncomplicated gonorrhoea (a sexually transmitted infection), and Lyme disease (resulting from bites by infected black-legged ticks) in adults and children aged 12 years and older.
