Description

Tranexamic and Mefenamic acid Tablets are used for alleviating dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain) and menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding). Additionally, this combination is employed to manage severe blood loss, swelling in different areas of the body, fever, inflammation, and migraine headaches. Menstrual cramps, referred to as dysmenorrhea, involve cramps and discomfort during a woman’s period. Menorrhagia is identified as a condition with unusually heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding.

How Tranexamic and Mefenamic Acid Tablets Work?

The combination of Tranexamic Acid and mefenamic Acid includes two active ingredients: Tranexamic Acid (which acts as an anti-fibrinolytic) and Mefenamic Acid (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, NSAID). Tranexamic Acid aids the body’s natural blood clotting mechanism by inhibiting the breakdown of fibrin, thus preventing fibrinolysis, the process responsible for halting blood clot formation. Mefenamic Acid alleviates pain by blocking the action of chemical signals that trigger discomfort.

Direction To Use and Its Side Effects

It is recommended that you take Tranexamic Acid combined with mefenamic Acid for the duration prescribed by your healthcare provider, based on your medical condition. Some individuals might experience common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, indigestion, heartburn, and headaches. Most of these side effects do not typically need medical intervention and should gradually resolve. Nonetheless, you should consult your doctor if these side effects persist.

Precautions To Be Taken

Consult your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or nursing. Tranexamic Acid combined with mefenamic Acid may induce dizziness, so exercise caution when driving. This medication should not be administered to children as safety and effectiveness are not yet confirmed. Additionally, avoid consuming alcohol while taking Tranexamic Acid combined with mefenamic Acid, as it may result in heightened drowsiness and dizziness, and it could increase the risk of stomach bleeding. Keep your doctor updated about your health status and any medications you are taking to mitigate any potential side effects or interactions.
