Description
This four-in-one ointment cream contains the following four active ingredients: Ofloxacin, Ornidazole, Itraconazole, and Clobetasol Propionate. Each of these ingredients plays a different role, making the treatment holistic in dealing with various infections of the skin and inflammatory conditions. It is usually prescribed for the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections, severe skin inflammations, and specific dermatoses with inflammatory and infectious components.
Key Ingredients and Their Functions
Ofloxacin: This is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, highly effective in fighting bacterial infections. It inhibits the DNA gyrase of bacteria and halts their growth; this way, it stops the spread of the infection. Ofloxacin is used to treat bacterial skin infections such as infected wounds and some bacterial dermatoses.
Ornidazole: An antibiotic, Ornidazole is an antibacterial agent which kills and eradicates anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. It is used to clear the infections caused by protozoal parasites and it is most effective in mixed infections, where bacteria and parasites occur together.
Itraconazole: This antifungal medication works by penetrating into the cell membranes of fungi that cause candidiasis, tinea, and dermatophytosis. It interferes with the fungal cell membrane and prevents the growth of fungi. It is highly essential in treating infections that occur in skin folds, nails, and areas that easily harbour fungi.
Clobetasol Propionate: This is a potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and itching of the condition. Hence, it is very effective for conditions like eczema and psoriasis. It gives relief to patients with skin conditions who have severe itching and inflammation.
